Mad Weave

$35.00

Weaving is a reminder of the past to secure the future.

Gerimis Art Projects presents Mad Weave, 88 pages of text and illustrations that explore padanus weaving through the stories of Temuan Master Weavers Mak Yau and Kak Wati.

The book is named for anyam gila, the intricate hex-weave said to induce madness in lesser-skilled weavers. The result of documentation over a year, it covers both the practical aspects of weaving (harvesting tools, patterns) alongside what it reveals about the Temuan weavers’ relationship with tradition, land, and nature.
